The reason why it might not have worked is here

if you are using capture command be sure to have the correct application in the foreground. If you are trying to capture control-m with respect to winDVD , windDVD has to be the active app.

Thus:

1. Start command capture
2. switch to windvd
3. press control-m
4. switch back to girder
5. stop the command capture
5. look for the correct captured command in the list
6. test it.

btw, there is no garantee that the captured command will work.

Have you tried it with 'Alternative Proc' checked?

Here is a WinDVD4 group that I created quite a while ago. It uses windows messages. WinDVD4 GML (http://www.vynce.kicks-ass.net/Girder/WinDVD4.gml)

I´ve tried to send the command Ctrl+m to WinDVD.
Under the keybord action I checked the Control and have written m in the Sentence.

WinDVD just gets an m (which mutes the thing :( )

Whats wrong ???

Anybody else got this problem, is it a bug?

Besides Grider is great.

Try this:

Make sure WinDVD is open.
Add new Command.
Go to Keyboard Action Tab.
Select "Control" box
Type M in Sentence
Press Apply
press target
select Winamp
press OK
press apply
Test it!

I couldn't see what CTRL=m did, but CTRL+L worked for me

Apologies for the noob question, but I'm having the same problem.
However, I can't capture the command - every time I hit CTRL+M Girder takes the keystroke and creates a new multipart group. I've set the target to WinDVD and applied before attempting the capture.
Here's the sequence:

Make sure WinDVD is open.
Add new Command.
Go to Command Action Tab.
Select Command from the dropdown.
Click "Target".
Use the crosshairs to select WinDVD as the target, and click OK.
Back in the action tabs, click "Apply".
Click "Capture".
Click "Start Capture"
Hit CTRL+M.
> In the background main Girder window a new multigroup is created.
Sometimes it seems to list the commands in the capture window, other times not. Also, when I click "Stop Capture", then this is added to the list of captured commands.

I'm using verion 3.2.4, on WinXP home.

Thanks all!

CTRL+M is menu in WinDVD - CTRL+L is subtitle on/off. The keyboard action with a CTRL doesn't seem to work win WinDVD (as documented above by Nikolai, hence me trying the capture command, but having no luck. Thanks for the suggestion though - I tried again to make sure I'd done it right, but no joy.

RonB - many thanks - that was the problem - I hadn't made WinDVD the focus before doing the CTRL+M - my misunderstanding!

vynce - thanks for that, too - I'll download it and have a look - I'm sure it will be more complete than mine currently is!
