What equipment do I require for Girder to transmit an IR code from a wired remote IR transmitter located say at the rear of my room, to enable me to control IR only devices via NetRemote?

Therefore, no need to worry about pointing my PPC at the equipment in order to control efficiently.

Thanks.

I'm using a Buffalo Electronics IR-100 amplified and regulated connector block and IR emitters. You connect the block to your IR device, in my case the UBS-UIRT's external emitter jack, and the emitters plug into the jacks on the block, then your stick the emitters beside the IR sensors on your equipment.
You can find the block and emitters at smarthome.com

I should alos mention that this connector block has not been tested because I just received the shipment today, but I can let you know if you'd like.

Thanks for the info...

My OrigenAE HTPC case came with an IRTrans module built in. Should this module have output pins/socket for IR transmitter LEDs. If so that would be the easiest solution for me. I'll do some digging.

Thanks.

I use a USB-UIRT too. For room penetration, I have connected a small simple IR emitter diode with a long wire to the USB-UIRTs external connector. The emitter is placed at the rooms ceiling to reach devices like tv and so on.

Could I use the USB-UIRT module for IR transmission only via Girder whilst still using my IRTrans module for receiving IR to learn remote codes to trigger Girder actions?

If not I guess I would have to disconnect the internal IRtrans module and just use the USB-UIRT.

I think I will order an USB-UIRT either way!

Yes, that should be possible.

I'm sure you won't regret it.
