FYI - IRMan is a receiver only. The UIRT both sends and receives. Commercial units that do both are quite a bit more. Base cost of materials and minimal labor will be likely be more than $35.

I just checked out all the pages on UIR and it looks pretty simple to build. A few basic electronic parts and a PIC. Unfortunately, I don't have time to build this.
However, are there any electonics enthusiasts out there that wants to build one for me. I'll pay you a reasonable fee for your services and time. I looked into IrMan, but $35 + $7 shipping, seems a little high for a little circuit like this.
