Possible to receive IR commands with a GC Device

I'm not sure if this is possible.
What i want to do is the following. Using a X-box with the original remote control. When pressing the power "On" on the remote control i would like to turn on the tv/beamer over a serial command from GC.
I have seen that i can configure the IR port of a GC as a input sensor, but is it possible to read this IR command from Girder and execute an action if the
certain command is comming??

We currently do not support the IR-in functionality on the Global Cache. You can get the USB-UIRT to do this for you though.
