USB-Serial-Adapter in Combination with a Pinnacle remote control

hi there, on my old computer i had no problems using girder 3.3 with the "pinnacle pctv pro"-plugin. since my new comp doesnt have com-ports, i connected the 9 pin cable via a usb-adapter.
unfortuneately, i didnt manage to get things to work - is there any special plugin i have to use, or what kind of mistake could i have overlooked?

yes, i did install the usb-seral-adatper drivers, and yes, the batterys of my remote work ;P

It very much depends on the USB-to-serial adaptor whether it will work or not. You may have some more success if you can find some alternative drivers - and not necessarily newer ones.

here's how it works: the problem consited in different com-ports!
i manually changed the com-port of the adapter to "COM2" (was COM8 before - girder only allows one to use COM1 to COM4), and vice versa in my "Pinnalce PCTV Pro"-Plugin options.

could have figured out that one earlier - thanks for help anyway :)
