View Full Version : LCD plugin with nonstandard LPT port address - how?

Trying to output to parallel hitachi-type VFD/LCD 16x2 from G4 with LCD plugin.
Here's the problem:
- motherboard doesn't have parallel port
- bought a PCI parallel add-on card
- the card gives me LPT1 port but assigns a non-standard port address - A400 instead of 0378 (I cannot reassign it - manual configuration is grayed out in device manager)
- LCD plugin doesn't work with this address.
- LCD plugin doesn't have an option to change the port address
- There's a key in registry "Port" which should allow for the address change but it didn't help (I put A400 in there)

Is there a way to make it work?

FYI - I tried LCD Smartie stand alone VFD control soft and it worked with no prob (just had to change 378 to A400 in its config).

Any idea anyone?

Thanks!
