I just wacked a UIRT together with some parts lying around. And i have an anoying problem.

Most of the times it takes about 2-10 seconds before something happens, then it works fine with all buttons unless the interval between pressing buttens gets bigger than about 1 second or so. So switching between vol up/down or any other buttons works fine until i let a button go, then i have to press a button a random quite long time before any thing is recieved. I used 2 philips remotes wich use rc5 and a pioneer wich seems to send fixed codes both have the same problem.

Also the UIRT only works with the "UIRTdp 10Mhz version 1.22.HEX" firmware. Using the "U.HEX" and the "UIRT_10MHZ_1_6.HEX" had no results.

I build the UIRT without 22pf and i shorted the xtal while programming.

Just did some more tests.
If the distance gets bigger the time till uirt reacts gets bigger
Also i cant seem to get hold of singe pressed buttons, unless i keep it pressed until uirt reacts.

Hi..

Only shortening is ok.

HmmHmm.
Philips and Pioneer remotes are tested wery well and should work ok, so problem could be in IR receiver maby or damaged bs170.

Try my RCV app from my page and compare signals, they all should look same (RC5 will have first 2 bits reversed on evry button pressed)

bye

I think i screwed somthing around the crystal. When i boot from a realy cold boot (like in the morning) everything works 100% but after say 10 minutes i get the slow/no response issue again.
