Thanks for letting me join in on the fun. I love this stuff, and if the wife would allow, would be at it all the time.

I have only been using Girder for a short time, so I'll try and at least sound intelligent on some of these things.

With that said, let me point out my first obsevations:

I started G 507 and went straight for Insteon. It discovered all my devices. I guess I was hoping it would find the names and all from G4 but I guess this isn't the typical install. Went to Device Manager to add the names/locatons for each device.

The only Location on file was Insteon. I went to the Locations tab to add more. (Upstairs, Outside, Master Bedroom, etc.) It would not save any new locations. It allowed me to change Insteon to Basement, but wouldn't let me add.

I was able to create and add new locations thru the Devices tab. These now show up on the locations tab.

The next thing is that the fields dont tab properly from description to display name. Adding a lot of data from the keyboard would be nice to be able to tab from field to field.

After editing an Insteon device and saving, then opening another device for editing, the display name doesn't clear. I'm not totally sure what exactly all these fields are specifically used for, so maybe this behavior is intended.

I edited all 26 or so devices.

Going to the main screen I noticed the 4th icon says preferences. Clicking on it opens settings. I know, trivial, but inconsitent.

I created a new GML to operate a light. Went to Actions/Device Manager/Lighting/lighting. In the drop down it only shows 11 of my 26 lights.

More to come . . .

The Device Manager will not show the lights unless it has confirmed they are alive. So it might take a few minutes of leaving Girder alone for it to verify everything.
