Hey Guys

Firstly I want to say - I love the Promixis apps.
- Love what I can do with my X10 bits and pieces.
- Love how I can have a fancy touch screen remote control everything
- Love how girder can be used for just about anything I want (except dressing me in the mornings and making my bed)

But I have to say I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed. Don't get me wrong - I love where G5 is headed, but since i travel a lot I can spend a month away from G5 at a time - everytime I come back I feel like I have a mountain of G5 stuff to digest (on top of all my house stuff and work stuff and of course wife stuff).

I know the following request would put a lot of extra work on Ron, Mike and Rob - so maybe this is unreasonable - but think it would benefit existing and future G5 customers (especially newbies).

Can we start to get a library of worked examples up and running. By worked examples - I am referring to basic -> intermeddiate type examples with step by step instructions. While there are examples in the reference guide and in the demo GML files - these are still basic - they dont tie everything together.

Something like - this is how you register a X10 Montion dectector in the DM and have it turn on a Light when motion is detected, but only between the hours of midnight and 6am - would be a perfect worked example.

While it makes assumptions about the hardware a person has, it use very common equipment and ties multiple concepts into a single example that would be useful to multiple people.

While I have confidence that I will eventually be able to learn what I need in G5, I am an intermeddiate user that has been with Girder since the simpler G3 days. My concern is that if we don't make it easier for a novice to get to intermeddiate level very easily - then Promixis will not have a growing customer base, and what is I believe to be the best most flexible automation product on the market - will cease to exist in spite of itself (I know - doom and gloom worst case scenario - but definatrely worth considering).

Detailed worked examples about each part of the product would help to sell the products to new users, grow the customer base, and then give the team more $ for R&D (and give me an even better product).

Please dont take offence at this - I think the support the P team offers is amazing. I just think we could help newbies help themselfs a bit more (and yes I am aware that there is so much info in the forums - but as a newbie the forums are overwhelming).

Again thanks for a great product and great support. Looking forward to making G5 a permanent part of my life.

Regards
Nuro

We will start making little instruction videos to show how the basic steps are done. Once those are done we'll move to more intermediate examples. I wish I could tell you these will be ready next week but sadly I can't.
