Can I do this

Hi guys, just stumbled across this site and hoping it may be what I'm looking for.

I'm in the UK and have Pace Di1010 cable box. Unfortunately this doesn't operate on the standard IR system but instead uses a IRDA system and therefore I can't control it with my Pronto TSU7000

What I was hoping was to do something like this

1. Get a USB-UIRT device and using the Pace remote control program the comands into Girder
2. Assign these learned codes to be sent when it receives standard IR codes from my Pronto
3. Use the USB-UIRT to send the Pace codes to the PAce cable box

Is this the sort of thing Girder & USB-UIRT can do, will it handle the Pace IRDA standard or have I got the wrong end of the stick ?

Unfortunately I don't think this will work. But, there is a device you can get that will convert from normal IR codes to IRDA specifically for the Pace cable boxes - it's called a Red-Eye
