Ok I tried to get Girder to control Media Center 2005. I tried downloading the plugin for Media Center but it does not control it at all.. none of the features work at all.
Never mind.. figured out the downloadable mce control doesn't work. Found the one in the gml folder does work

Help I can't seem to control volume. The default gml does not have a volume control for it. And I have tried manually creating volume but not having any luck.

Hmm.. still no response. I am really stuck with some issues when it comes to Girder. I find I can not control MCE 2005 unless I click on it.. Since I am using it with a dual view secondary display I really would like to be able to use my mouse on my primary display but this doesn't seem to be working too well since the only way I can control it so far is with windows > foreground tasks. Is their no other method I have tried eshell.exe as window but it doesn't seem to work for the basic commands at all.

Doesn't anyone reply to any of these questions? I mean I can't get the remote to control anything without using foreground window with Girder but using uIce I can send key to application without being on it's foreground just fine. So why can't I do it with Girder?

Mike would normally respond to these sort of questions but I think he's been away this weekend.
Re: the volume you can probably use Girder's own built-in volume control support.
I don't use MCE here, but I seem to remember some threads here where Mike said that MCE has to be the foreground application - maybe try searching (although the forum software really doesn't help here since it won't let you search for 3 letter words). Searching for MCE2005 led me to this thread
