Newbie needs help with scheduled task

I've been running BeyondTV with my DishNetwork 301 receiver for about 8 months now, and it's great. My problem has been that DishNetwork puts on a screen saver when there is inactivity on the receiver, and the auto channel changing from BeyondTV gets affected. So, I did a little research to find an automation tool I could use to schedule a transmission of a "SELECT" button equivalent from my remote, to keep the screen saver at bay. I found Girder, purchased it, and now am totally overwhelmed with features that don't seem to have anything to do with what I want to do.

Can anyone tell me an easy way of setting up a simple schedule event that will transmit this one function from my USB-UIRT every 15 min or so?

I have been able to create a custom remote, and my USB-UIRT is capable of receiving the 56KHz frequency the "SELECT" button transmits on. I've recorded the receive event for that one button, but, I'm totally lost on what to do from there.

Also, I did get into some flow where a dialogue popped up that said it would "learn" an IR command from my remote, but when I get to the point where it says to press the remote button to learn it, Girder just hangs, and I have to kill the process and restart it; not sure what to do about this. I'm running WinXP SP2, Girder 4.0.
