Hello,

With a new installation of Girder 4, I have done the following without achieving success in controlling Media Player Classic:

1) Add USBUIRT plugin.
2) Add new remote by wizard and named it (using Hauppage WinTV remote. Picked "New" from list).
3) Learned commands for PLAY, PAUSE and STOP to begin with.
4) Assigned my newly created remote to Media Player Classic.

I thought this was it to get things going. But, on starting up MPC and playing a file via mouse, the remote commands have no effect on the playing file.

I could see Girder recognizing the commands fine (log and status bar), and I made sure that MPC was foreground, but was simply not working.

Tried the same thing with another remote (a camcorder one) and same result. However, on assigning it to Winamp, was able to start up Winamp fine - but did not have reliable transport control. I could play or pause a song by pressing relevant remote button twice rapidly, but with MPC, no control at all.

I have searched this forum and looked in some detail at the help, but all leads me to the conclusion that what I have done should be working. Please can anyone advise how I can troubleshoot this?

Am using USBUIRT on WinXP Pro with MPC 6.4.9.0.

Thank you,
Cal.

hi,

MPC is a little tricky for targetting because the name of the window changes with the file that's played ;)

there's a good GML for MPC 6.4.9 and onwards in the download area:
http://www.promixis.com/download.php?ID=970

and also one for pre 6.4.9
http://www.promixis.com/download.php?ID=852

hope this helps ;)
