Hi,

I have an old X10 Mouse Remote with serial interface receiver. The remote itself is model MK19A. The receiver is model JR21A. Someone has a lua script providing serial support for it ?

Thanks...

I too have the x10 mouse remote - brand new, I just opened the box I bought serveral years ago. This looks to be a nice remote, RF and IR, with long range. It has a serial port receiver "RF Wireless Mouse Remote REceiver model JR21A"

I don't see anyway to get Girder 5 to work with it, though I can see it would be very nice if it did work. Can anyone help? Perhaps it can be made to work with an older version of Girder? If so, please let me know how to do that.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, there is no (ready) way to make X10 MouseRemote to work with new Girder. Nobody has written plugin or LUA script for it.
The only way is to use Girder 3 (or other automation tools).

Ah, that is what I thought might be the case. Thanks.
Since then I got a cheap X10 "Lola" remote (very similar to the MouseRemote). However it has an RF receiver that connects by usb rather than rs232 serial. Maybe it will work with newer Girder?

I am forced to continue using Girder 3.3 because of the lack of support for the MouseRemote in newer versions of Girder.

I haven't found anything else on the market with comparable RF range.
As a Mobile DJ I need range.

Is anyone aware of a newer RF remote with 150-200ft range that I can replace my MR with, and still use with the latest version of Girder?

Hey Jeff

I still use my old mouse remote transmitter, but with one of 2 different receivers.
I'm not sure if the range is the same as the old mouse remote receiver. I guess i could do some tests if i set them both up and resurrect my old version of girder.
I use the Video Mark PC Remote receiver (comes as a kit with a new remote, but i prefer the old one and it works fine) http://www.letsautomate.com/11019.cfm?&

I also use a W800RF32 serial receiver
http://www.iautomate.com/w800rf32
It allows me to use my original mouse remote & also a credit card remote
http://www.letsautomate.com/10615.cfm?
The credit card remote doesn't have any thing like the range of the mouse remote, but can be very useful if working close to your equipment.
The W800RF32 remote lua file doesn't work with the mouse remote, but I didn't have to make too many modifications to it to get it working!!!!
I can send you the file if you are interested anyway!
The USB receivers and Girder 4 do not have the built in ability to use different groups i.e. PC, DVD, CD etc. However it is a simple task to use group enable/disable within girder to achieve the same effect.
The big question is 'Is it worth the effort' and if there is nothing that you need that you can't do in Girder 3 then why bother?
Remember there are some plugins that work in girder 3 but not girder 4. Best to check out if you would need to use any of them.
All said Girder 4 is great, but a big lead from the Girder 3.

Hope this is of some help to you. See you on your Ots board.

Dom.

Thanks Dom!
That looks like my ATI remote!
I recieved a new ATI remote wonder Plus in conjunction with my purchase of a new ATI TVWonder 650 capture card, and it includes a USB reciever, but I've yet to figure out how to make it work with anything. Haven't tried it with girder yet. Still resetting up the system.

The original ATI remote was good to about 35 feet. the wonder plus is supposed to be good to 100 feet. The mouse remote, if I recall, is 150+.
