I have downloaded the trial and I'm wanting to buy the standard version, but need to know if it can do this:
I have Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit, I use Media Center a lot and the Media Center remote control
I watch HD-DVD's and Blu-ray movies through PowerDVD Ultra, the hi-def discs have "pop-up" menu's which can be accessed by pressing "CTRL+P" on the keyboard, is there a way to map one of the un-used buttons on the remote to do this command (but leave all other buttons as they are)?
if this is possible, could someone explain how to do it?
the manual isn't too user friendly to someone who doesn't know what they're doing!

hi,
First of all switch the user interface to the 'expert interface', if you haven't done that already, it's in the 'view' menu.
Second, don't use learning a remote and assigning a remote to a GML, it's great for absolute beginners, but using raw events will teach you a lot more about how to get things working in Girder.
As for the action you wanted to create:
-on the left of your screen you can find the list of available actions. Open the folder named 'keyboard' and drag the 'keyboard' action and drop it into your GML on the right.
-the editor for the action should have opened and here you can enter the key(s) you want to send. Enter: *p this represents sending Ctrl+p.
-now you need to send these keys to the right target by opening the 'window picker' button in the action editor. For easy targeting you should open 'PowerDVD Ultra' once it has opened hit the 'refresh' button in the 'window picker' and 'PowerDVD Ultra' should show up in the list to the left. Now select it and use the 'test' button to see if it will result in a single match. If it does hit 'ok' to leave the menu and hit the green button top left of the editor window to save the action.
-you can now test the action by selecting the action in the main window and then hitting the orange arrow button. If it works your action is done.
Now it's time to trigger the action with an event:
-open the 'logger' in the view menu.
-hit the button you would like to use on your remote, the generated event should now show up in the logger window.
-drag the event from the logger window and drop it on the action you've created.
That should be all, but if at first you don't succeed, don't hessitate to ask again ;)
BTW: if you're using Vista, it my might be worth waiting for Girder 5 to come out, which is now in beta stage. If I remember correctly, some users had problems using Girder 4 with Vista, in version 5 those will be ironed out. I Don't remember the entire policy for upgrading, but if you wait for Girder 5 or use the beta version, you won't have to worry about that at all. ;)

thanks for this, tried it last night, BUT, when I press any of the buttons on the remote, the receiver flashes but nothing appears in the log on the software, it only does something once Media center is loaded, except for the play, pause, stop, arrows, ffwd & rev which all work but I need them to stay as they are :(

hi,
sorry I've missed the fact that you were using an MCE remote ;)
The MCE remote needs a plugin made by 'Burningzeroad' to make communication between Girder and the IR tranceiver possible.
you can find it here:
http://www.promixis.com/downloads.php?mode=list&prodName=Girder&lucCode=800
hope this helps ;)
