I just installed the new TV-server that is as beta available from the guys at www.team-mediaportal.com and I am impressed.
Basically I installed the tv-card and the tv-server on my server-pc, so that scheduled recordings can take place even if my htpc is offline. mediaportal tv-server sends out the current selected channel as videostream, so that any client can watch tv with any mediaplayer. So I will hopefully be able to watch TV on my notebook without a tv-card and even on my pda ;-)
However, to control the tv-server (e.g. change channel, get channel-list, get epg-info, etc.) the mediaportal client is needed. There are developer information available on their site and I think it would be a great benefit for Girder to offer a plug-in to this amazing piece of software. And also these guys will get a big affort on having a plug-in for famous girder software, so maybe a co-operation is useful for both parties?
Unfortunately I am not able to program anything (even lua is hard for me) and so I just want to make the suggestion to develop a plug-in and maybe some wise guys here can take it as a pet project :-)
just my 2 cents
