I've found what the problem is, other plugins might be affected too. I'll update Girder to fix this.

This only happens if the plugin has been loaded recently and you have not selected a command in the tree. The plugin then tries to work with the NULL pointer... Fixed in beta8 (when I release it ;-) )

RegSetValue/SetWaveDev:
There seems to be a small bug with these two plugins.
If you enable one of these in the settings dialog, then click 'settings' button on the plugin actions list Girder dies with an access violation.
They are OK however, if you disable/enable devices first.
