I just downloaded the free version of Girder and tried to make my RC work on it. The normal Igor plugin from the Promixis website Girder didn't even accept, it told me "Warning: There may be hardware problem in receiver!". After a little search I found the homepage of the developer (http://members.chello.cz/cesko/download.php) and downloaded IgorPlugXP.zip, which then worked. But when I was trying to add my RC, Girder got always the same code (AAAA). My brother got the same RC (TCM 238558) and it works without problems. I even tried the RC of my PCTV card which also sent just AAAA, no matter what button I press.
So anyone got an idea what to do? Oo

Which IR sensor are you using?
If an UIRT, no Igor plugin needed.
if another USB version, which one and is it self made did you buy it?

UIRT? what does that mean?
the sensor (i believe you mean the one that is connected to the PC) was brought with the PCTV RC and is connected to COM1
so this is the information you need?

hi,
sounds to me like you need to change the plugin's settings in it's menu to DCD.
little disclaimer: I haven't used the XP version of the IgorPlug serial device.
hope this helps ;)

Hi,
i borrowed an MA-600 serial port IR transceiver; it was developed for cellular phone to PC communication, but i managed to get it working with girder 3.3 with the general serial port plug-in. okay, now the problem sounds pretty similar to firefrog's: i tried many remotes (different brands, like 'Samsung', 'Amstrad', 'Philips') but always get the same code pressing different button. i've been trying different values for "fixed length" number of characters and antirepeat..any suggestion?
thanx in advance.

this was the first thing i changed after having problems, but it had no effect =/
/edit: just tried it once again, it doesn't work
/edit2: i forgot to tell you my brother got the same RCs and the same "receiver" (is that how you call it? i'm from germany, so no perfect english, sorry ;) ) and with his PC it works without any problems

hi,
@Firefrog
You said you've used the free version, so I assume you mean Girder 3.2.
What happens if you use the Girder 4 trial version with either the Igorplug or IgorplugXp plug-ins?
it might just be a Girder vs. plug-in compatatability issue
hope this helps;)

@blubberhoofd:
i was using the girder 4 trial, but ok, i'm gonna try 3.2 - but nevertheless, on my brother's pc it works with girder 4 trial...

Can you try using your hardware on your brother's PC and vice versa?

what exactly do you mean? i'm using the same RC and the same receiver as my brother does on his PC, so why should i change it?

hi,
Rob H probably made the suggestion so you could make sure the device actually works.
Btw are you also running the X10 driver on your PC?
I had problems on my old HTPC running X10 drivers together with my serial Igorplug device, the codes were also messed up, but not always the same code.

hey,
it actually does work, I have some other software (WinLIRC) for my pctv-RC, and this one works just fine - girder receives always the same code, no matter if I use the PCTV-remote or the other one i bought a few days ago (which also works with WinLIRC).
uhm, X10 driver? whats that? don't know, sorry... can you tell me how to find out?
and by the way, thanks a lot for all your response!

Hey bro B4 i also have that problem. My problem is in the receiver. U must connect Pin 1 and Pin 3 in 9pin DB connector. I'm sure it will work after u connect that pins just like this
