Thanks Dan for pointing this thread out. Not sure how I missed it

http://www.promixis.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15576&highlight=dallas

when I searched for 1 wire information.

Mike any chance someone could follow up if Dan is busy and finish this so that you can also do digital I/O, ect with DM? Maybe move it over to CM for G5.

I know Marcel's plugin supports:

temperatures from one-wire DS1820 devices.
temperatures from one-wire DS1920 devices.
read/write I/O pins on the DS2405
read/write I/O pins on the DS2406
read/write I/O pins on the DS2408
read counter values from DS2423
read/write wiper position from digital potentiometer DS2890
read 4 channel Voltages from A/D converter DS2450
read temperature,voltage,current from DS2438
support ds2409 based hub

Personally I have some DS1820 and DS2405 devices I am playing with.

I think as more people see the value of Girder5 for home automation that this will be a huge asset.

There is a Hobby Boards section on the Cocoontech forum that has their presence and I am sure we can get him to come here to answer questions also if there is an interest.

I think Jon is absolutely right this would be a brilliant asset to the G5 arsenal.

Dan, since I do not have any of this hardware, I don't really know where things are at.... what is/is not working?

Maybe we could get Hobbyboards.com to loan some hardware out so that the plugin could be robust. It would help them by having a good plugin and people would then know they could trust buying the hardware and have a working system.

Would not hurt to ask.

Mike,

Marcel's plugin works for all his devices and the hobby board hubs etc, very well.

My DM works for temperature devices. Not other devices. It would be nice if it did all devices thou, and as a proper cm

I would pick up some of those if I knew that Girder could use them easily and reliably.

Dan, would you upload your files here?

Is there every an situation where you have > 1 interface from a one wire network to the pc? does marcels stuff support it?

It supports the 6 Channel Hub Master Hub because that is what I am using. So I am not sure why anyone would want more than one interface on a PC.

this is not possible, there can only be one host (which is configured in the one-wire drivers, not the plugin)...

I know that I'm not Dan  , but attached my non DM/CM class that handles DS1820/DS2438 (temperature, pressure, humidity, solar energy) . note that formulas vary per geographical location)
