Maybe you could use the blank screensaver as an temporary alternative... ?

Hi,

I also have this problem and found that it was caused by Windows 2000 not reading the DCC information from the monitor. When it does not read the DCC information the power management features dont work.

After an email to Microsoft support they said that it only affected certain cards (mine is an ATI) and that the fix will be in service pack two.

Bummer I know as I need to switch my monitor off at the power when all I want to do is listen to some music.

I have been testing Girder with an IRMAN on my Windows ME machine and all works fine.

I moved to my main W2k machine and I am having trouble with the Monitor ON/OFF commands and the resolution change commands.

Is there some trick to this under W2k ?

Thanks for the replies folks, I think John (happypixie) is on the monry here. I have my PC hooked up to my RPTV, si I have the plug-n-play DCC stuff turned off. I also use an ATI Radeon.

I do have SP2 on a test drive, so I'll check that tonight.

If this fails then I'll set a blank screen saver as Ron suggests.

Thanks guys
