i understand that with girder we can control some software run in PC with a remote control.but some basics questions arise :
1) How i could know that a software could be use with girder?
2) does the developper of this software is the only personn that can make is software compatible with girder ?
3) what are the requirement to make a software compatible with the use of girder ?
4) is there a tool that go inside the software we want to work with girder and help mapping button with girder before mapping button girder to IR code.
5)is girder work like some tool that know how to interact with gui software refer to is position and area when open ? a kind of iopus (http://www.iopus.com/) tool but for MFC application and remote control not mouse.
thank's for all informations.

Your questions are too general. You need to be more specific on telling us what you want to do with your software. Girder is a very powerful tool where you can simulate remote but also key emulation, mouse.... and a LOT more. It is simply the best automation software on the net.

Give us some meat so we will be able to guide you the best we can.

well the short answer to your question is that Girder can can control almost any application, by emulating the keybord input and mouse input. Some applications work best via WM messages which can be emulated also.

1)just try yourself, or ask on this forum. almost all applications allow you to test a trial version.

2)usually the applications can be controlled by one or several means supported by Girder, so a developer hardly ever needs to adapt his software.

3)applications allowing control via keyboard, mouse, WM messages would be compatible.

4)lots of media players allow for remapping of control keys, but Girder allows for even more remapping when attaching to events like IR.

5)this can be done for some applications by coding a COM interface, which allows for bi-directional interaction between Girder and the target application.
Some developers and experienced users are able to code and interface on this level, but I still can't ;)

I'm not entirely sure I understood, but NetRemote can provide a GUI on your PC, as well as on a PDA. NetRemote works in conjunction with a tool called NetRemote Designer which enables you to design your own GUI, or you can use one of the provided samples.

Cheers,
