should the trial version of Netremote have access to the 'direct ir'.
I have a sony DA3200ES amp and want to make sure it can be controlled by netremote. I presume I need 'direct ir' to learn the remote codes? when i go into the plugins, under the infared plugin there is no option for direct ir, only passthrough and girder....

is it possible to 'learn' remote codes on any other pda remote software and transfer the codes to netremote?
do I assume 'Direct IR' was written by wincesoft , and is no longer licensed to be used by promixis?

I don't know what the story is on the licensing, but you can definitely paste CCF/Pronto format codes from any source (Remote Central, ProntoEdit, TontoEdit, Nevo, etc) into NetRemote Designer. Some vendors (like DVDO) are even nice enough to publish the codes for their devices on their site.

As far as I know, we still have a license for the DirectIR plugin, but it's a separate purchase. Not sure what the situation is as regards the trial version at the moment though.

I emailed promixis and........
Sorry, built-in IR functionality is no longer supported with the
newer versions of NetRemote. - Ron Bessems (Promixis)
So it looks as though Netremote will no longer learn IR codes - shame, it seems such a well supported and polished app.

Though I haven't tried it myself, I believe Girder offers IR learning in conjunction with USB-UIRT... it'd be good to get that into NetRemote as well if the DirectIR plug-in has gone away.
Best,
Tim
