The problem is this receiver doesn't hook to the transmit nor receive lines. Reads from and writes to the COM port won't affect it. The data received is presented on the CTS line. This requires a polling plugin like the WinLirc or Igor plugin OR a kernal filter driver (which hasn't been written).
