Hi,

I'm testing out the trial download of NetRemote 2.0, so I am very much a newbie to this program. I'd like to use it to control the music server in my spare bedroom from a laptop (not a PDA) in my living room where the stereo is. This looks like it will work just fine. I have the MediaBridge server and NetRemote client both running on the server for testing, as suggested in the docs. I am using it to control WinAmp. All is fine with control and connectivity.

In the NetRemote UI, I am showing the list of songs in an album. When doing so, I can only either add all songs from the album to the playlist, or do a single selection of the songs, adding one song to the playlist at a time. What I'd like to do is click the first item in the list of songs, then shift-click the last to select all. Then I'd like to Ctrl-click the ones I wish to omit, then finally right-click to add the multiple selection to the playlist. I guess that because the program is designed to support PDAs, some of this type of selection may be deliberately limited? Is there some kind of configuration file I can download that enables multiple selection in list views when using a PC for control? Thanks for any help.

I'm not aware of any way to do that currently in NR. You would have to select each one in turn and add it to the playlist. Behind the scenes NR is sending a single message to the media player to play the selected file path so to do what you are suggesting would require quite a bit of rework I would guess. It may also be prone to problems if it entails looping round and sending multiple play requests to the media player in quick succession. I guess this is where you have to accept NR is not the actual media player, it's only remote controlling it so there will be inevitable limitations in functionality.

Having said that, in may ways NR has extended the functionality of my media player in more ways imaginable in terms of how I browse for and select music.
