Hi All,
I have been away from the NetRemote/Girder apps for a bit. A quick question, with the new version of NetRemote can I send messages directly to my USB UIRT on my server from NetRemote on my Fujitsu Tablet or do I need to use Girder on my server to control the USB UIRT? I glanced on the forms but didn't see anything directly in regards to direct access of the USB UIRT.
This will be used to control my 2nd amp for my Living Room zone...just need to see if I need to also buy the new version of Girder along with version 2 of NetRemote....
Thanks for any info...

You should be able to do so, with old fashioned Pass-through. Look for NRIRServer, it should be available for download somewhere here. But the problem is that no form of IR passthrough with the USB-UIRT is working at the moment. At least not on my system. :(

I use NR2 with Girder 3.3 connected to my USB-UIRT.
The USB-UIRT has a jack in the back that connect to two seperate IR zones plus the main one at the front makes three. I currently have a IR LED connected to the rear jack which runs into my bedroom so even if I have two identical pieces of kit, like say the same amp, and one was in the living room and one was in the bedroom the IR signals would only activate the amp I wanted.
In Girder you can specify which zone you want the IR signal to to to very easily. When you click on the USB-UIRT plugin to get it to learn a command you have the option of transmitting the IR signal to zones All, 1, 2 or 3. Zone 1 is the front and zones 2 and three are connected to a 3.5mm stereo jack plug with the shield being the IR LED cathode and the tip and the second band are zone 2 and 3 anodes. You don't need to add a resistor like you do with most LEDs as Jon Rhees who designed the USB-UIRT already added an 82 ohm resistor inside the case. All you need is the IR LED and the wire to where you need it... oh and a small box to house the IR LED so you don't break the solder connections to the LED.
Hope that makes sense...
That USB-UIRT is one smart piece of kit for something so small...

Thanks for the responses...I have Girder 3.2 and know I need to upgrade as it doesn't look like NR2 works with Girder 3.2 (this was the last version before it cost money...). I agree that it is a very cool little device - I am using 2 zones right now as I have 2 Bell Express Vu Sat Receivers that use the same codes - the zoning works great!
I like Girder and will update but hoped for now that I would just need NR2 - I will look for the old NRIRServer app to see if I may be able to get it to work.

Girder 3.3 works fine with NR2... you just need to patch your 3.2 to 3.3 I think. Oh yeah and turn on and setup the Internet Event Server plugin.
