Internet Radio?

Has anyone ever got NR working right with internet radio? I use JRMC as my media player and when the net stream is playing the track name and artist are shown... but in NR all it says is "HTTP STREAM". WhXBMC is playing internet radio it works right and shows the artist and trackname so I know it is possible.

Anyone got a way of showing the artist and trackname in NR when internet radio is playing?

I think it definitely depends on the stream and streamer, John. My solution is thus: most (in fact, all) of the streaming stations I listen to either publish current (and recent) song information via an RSS feed or have an HTML page with the information. I have a G4 instance that is pretty much constantly polling those feeds, populating tables with the info, and then comparing the currently playing stream in JRMC with those tables to determine which station I'm listening to, and updating the NR variables. Kinda convoluted, but it works for me.

OK.. I decided to try and see if using Winamp I could get the artist/trackname info for net radio and what happens...

"There was a problem initializing the plugin for Winamp"


Arrrrrrrrrgggghhhhh.....

I swear that NR hates me.

I am using Winamp 5.35 by the way. Anyone know why MediaBridge refuses to use Winamp? I have tried re-installing Winamp and rebooting but nothing helps, it still throws up the above error.

Hmmm... Just found the Radio tab in Mediabridge... How do you setup NR to use those?

Well that's it... Game over... Game over...

I just don't see how to get track names and artist info into NR... I even tried that Last.FM thing and went to the hassle of trying to install Last.FM's audioscrobbler program but the stupid thing had no buttons or tickboxes in the installer and it specifically tells you to tick boxes ffs.

I swear to god some days I swear computers hate me.

Well it seems like uninstall time is here! I'm going back to using XBMC. At least that works right 99.9999% of the time and is dead easy to use AND TELLS ME WHAT RADIO ARTIST AND TRACK IS PLAYING!!!!!!!

OK... found out why I was getting so irritable... was supposed to take my darned morphine at 6pm. Just shows you how bad an addictive substance it is.

OK... can anyone (preferably the Promoxis guys) point to where in the docs it explains how to access the radio links you add in the MediaBridge interface?
