View Full Version : Any large, Girder controllable LED displays around?

I have an 17" LCD monitor in the rear window, so I can send insults to cars behind me and do some other fun stuff (road rage isn't really that common in Norway, don't think I would do this in Alabama...) by pressing buttons in Net Remote and displaying text in another NetRemote instance in that LCD. But this really only works when it's reasonably dark outside (at least dusk - no point at all in sunlight). Are there a reasonably priced LED sign I can use instead, one that can be read in sunlight? It would need some kind of interface so I could send the messages in realtime, the easiest would probably be some form of RS232 protocol that Girder's serial driver probably will be able to send the commands with. So any suggestions would be appreciated!

I've heard BetaBrite displays are very customizable. Serial protocol programmable and (not sure) can display what is sent over the serial. These are inexpensive signs you might see in a store window attracting customers. Hope it's available 'over there'. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! They don't have anything over here, but I get most of my stuff from eBay anyway! :)
