This isn't a direct answer to your question, but I thought I'd mention that the latest version of ZoomPlayer (www.inmatrix.com) has a File Navigator feature that is extremely easy to use with a remote control. Check out the discussions on this forum and the ZPlayer forum for more info.

Hi All,
I've been obsessing over girder and my remote for about 10 hours today and there is one thing that I want to know:

is there a way I can get osd menu or a different plug-in to list the contents of a directory so I can select a movie or cartoon to watch and then play it in the player that's associated with it? oh please god tell me there is some way...

thx,

Er... maybe it's not what you want, but it can be a clue.

If you control the standard file explorer with the remote in the appropriate directory, then you can do the trick. That is my main Idea to start up files.

some arrows for the cursor UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT so you can move around, then an acceptance button (OK) for enter, and a denial button for BACKSPACE (in the file explorer, backspace is "back to parent directory" and it can be real usefull)

Now to start up the thing, you can "execute" a directory (typing C: (for hard drive C) in the target file - Girder will not point naturally to it but it is easy to type...)

This should do the thing.

osd menu builder is what you are asking for.
works for winamp, but I am having problems with ATI fileplayer. It's telling me 'no program associated with this action', yet I can double click file no problem.

anyways, check it out (in downloads section somewhere).
