Hi,

I've installed the MCE replacement driver on my client HTCP to control SageTV and x10 devices. I have already programmed the x10 devices and they all work perfectly via the MCE reciever, however when I try and control SageTV the remote does nothing even though I can see Girder picking up the button presses. If I bypass Girder all together it still doesnt work, the only way to get the MCE remote to work is to reinstall the default MCE reciever drivers but then I cannot use the remote to control the x10 devices.

So I'm going to assume that I need to map all the key presses from my MCE remote to control SageTV and create a new .gml file.

Is this the correct way to do it? If it is then has one been made already which I could download and just copy into the Girder folder(being lazy).

I've searched and searched and found lots of posts but everything I try doesnt seem to work and the above solution is the only thing left that I can think of that may work.

Cheers

Ben

Happy New Year to all ;)

Does SageTV respond correctly if you test a given action using F5 in Girder?

No, Once I install the replacenment driver all functions from the MCE remote or directly from Girder (F5) stop working. X10 devices which I've configured through Girder work fine via the same reciever.

However looking at Girders log I can see the commands coming up from the remote.

i.e if I push stop on the remote -

mce plugin <stop>

appears in the log window. This makes me think the remote is working and Girder is picking up the actions but its not doing anything with those actions.

SageTV works out of the box with an MCE reciever and remote and requires no additional driver or software install only to select the remote in settings.

I've also noticed I dont have any xml files in C:\Program Files\Promixis\Girder5\Definitions for an MCE remote. There are some for Niveus Media Remote.xml, firefly.xml etc. Should I have an xml file for MCE?

Ok I got it to work correctly by taking the MCE reciever from upstairs and plugging it in downstairs. Worked a treat :) only problem is I've gotta buy another reciever now :( Oh well at least I know it will work and I have another day to try and get the software to work before the shops open again on Wednesday and waste more money.

If anyone has any tips on how to get it working via software then I''d be gratefull.

Cheers
