Hi! I've been using WinXP and the last free version of Girder for years now since it did everything I needed. I started playing with Vista (x86 and x64) and evaluating the latest beta of Girder (v5.0.0.523).
Problem -- I was able to do everything I did in Girder v3 except for one thing... I can control the sound card main volume and mute, but when I try to toggle the mute for the line-in, it doesn't work. When I test the command, it shows that its toggling mute - that is, the little speaker graphic shows up with and without an X, however, it is not affecting the mixer.
Basically, I pipe FM radio through line-in, and then wish to control the mute with my remote/girder. I tested this on Vista x32, with a Creative X-Fi and an Auzen Prelude, and both gave me the same thing. The audio picker does indeed have these inputs labeled ('Line In' on the X-Fi, and 'Analog Mix' on the Prelude) but it does not work, as mentioned.
Right now I am back to XP (which has no such problems) so I can't test anything out until my USB-UIRT arrives and I reinstall Vista, but I was wondering if anyone else has run into this - perhaps it is a Vista limitation, or I don't have my sound card configured correctly under Vista, or this is a problem with the Girder software.
If anyone can confirm or shed some light on this, I would be very grateful!
