Plugin to control Hauppauge IR

I am currently using the USB-UIRT, but there are IR blasters on both of my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600s. I would rather use the built-in ones and free up a USB port.

Is there already a plugin available to drive these from Girder 5?

seemingly not, I wish I knew how to create plugins!
