I'm assuming the Set Audio Device action in the Voice section is for setting the default audio device (sound card) on your system (at least I hope it is because that's what I want to do). However, when I add the action the Audio Device list is blank. Is there something I need to do to allow it to see the sound cards in my system?

You realize that the action is only for the voice, right?
Have you enabled the voice manager component in the component manager?

Okay, enabling Voice Manager fixed it (my sound cards now appear in the drop-down) but the action isn't doing what I hoped it would. As you said it seems to only apply to voice actions within Girder and doesn't affect your global sound settings.
Do you know if there's any way to have Girder change your default sound device for the system?

I believe that is what mixer.SetDefaultWaveOutDevice([devno]) is supposed to do, however that is listed in the Bug thread as #2 on Vista, which is what I'm running so it isn't working for me.
My workaround is attached.
