I am using girder5, Netremote2 and USBUIRT to control my receiver. I am using a S/PDIF from my computer to the receiver. Is there an elegant way to control the volume on the receiver? I would like to be able to limit the volume on the receiver so as to avoid blowing out my speakers. I saw this link from quixote that addressed the issue, but I was not sure if his solution works with G5. Has anyone updated the "VariableConditional" plugin for G5? Is there a simple way to control volume of both the "wave" output from the pc and the volume increase on the receiver (via IR signal)?

I think the variable conditional works, but you cannot test it directly (with F5).
You can create a macro and control as many components as you wish in it, including wave out and IR control of your receiver, but if your using vista you're likely to run into some problems from what I've heard. In my experience you cannot control your SPDIF output volume and you'll have to resort to only controling your amplifier instead. (I could be wrong, though).

I'm getting an error when I test the "Fire Girder Event" action. Any suggestions?

David,
Can you post your GML. I'm looking to move with Vista and this is one of my concerns.
Thank
Charles

Charles:
Here is my GML (look under Volume Control). I am using Microsoft XP. I have the volume slider on my CCF linked to the GML so that the volume on the reciever and the wave output on my computer go up and down together. The volume doesn't get sent to the receiver once the slider is at 100% and the sound is muted when the volume on the slider is at 0%. The slider is hidden under the control button in my CCF (also attached). I am also using volumetracker from http://www.chrisnet.net/apps/VolumeTracker.zip to link the wave output on my computer to the master volume on my sound card.
Good luck,
David

Charles or someone else:
Could you look at the attachment in post number 7 and write the Lua script that would allow me to change the state of my control button on my player page when either continuous or shuffle is selected.
Thanks,
David
