Sounds like the winlirc device is defective. The number that appears next to the green light, does this change when you press a different number or does it stay the same ?

I'm clueless, anyone out there using the winlirc plugin ?
Send your .gml file to me so I can have a look at it. ( use the girder support address )

aaaaaaaaah I see your problem!
You now selected "girder event" from the dropdown box next to the learn ir button. In the dialog you selected On * Event and then WinLirc. You are actually using a feature that is supposed to trigger on all events from the WinLirc plugin.
Now to solve your problem.
Go to the main girder window
Select "All" from the dropdown box next to the "learn event" button.
Press the learn event button
( Nothing happens besides a note in the statusbar that girder is waiting for an event )
Now press the desired button on the remote.
voila, this is what you want. Repeat this for every button needed. Be sure to delete the old incorrect eventsstrings!!

I'm afraid I need a bit more infromation before I can help.
Do you have the commands as parts of multi-groups or are they all arranged in a group? How many events have you learned for each multi-group or command?
If you haven't read the FAQ (http://www.girder.nl/help/faq.php) and help files (http://www.girder.nl/help/index.php), they might help.

Thanx for the reply.
As a newbie this prog is really hard to figure out.
Searched the forum and faq's but didn't find any real goodies.
When setting up one command with one event
this is triggered regardless what button is pressed on the remote.
When setting up multiple commands it seems like all commands are triggered one by one allso regardless what button is pressed on the remote
I did try different brands of remotes but all the same
Commands are arranged in one single group with one event per command

The green light in the bottom right of girder screen flashes between green an yellow end text to the left matches the remote button names
