Vaio UX380N Factory refurbished

There seem to be a lot of factory refurbished Sony Vaio UX380N's around...

for example :

I assume that is, because there is now a newer model out with a better processor

the UX380N is the USA model with simlocked Edge GSM modem (which I don't need)...

Memory 1GB PC2-3200 400MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Hard Disk 40GB
Display 4.5 Touch Screen (1024x600)
Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g WLAN

the price of the refurbished model is greatly reduced :

EUR 2500,- ==> EUR 1000,-

I also replaced the 40GB hard disk with a 32Gb SSD

the fan is a little more quiet than on the asus r2hv (but still audible)

below you can see the asus and sony in one picture

The graphics chip used on the asus can't handle the vista aero theme. This works fine on the sony....
and the cpu on the sony is also better

about 2.5 hours...

you can buy a bigger battery....

Can the screen work outside in the sun, like on the patio.

it's quite a lot better than my mobile phone screen, but in very bright sunlight, you may have some problems...
