Mike,
I feel pretty comfortable with the LCD plugin and would like to give this a try.
I just PM'd you my email address.

I have added support for a marquee row to the LCD plug-in. (The one based on LCDriver for serial devices.) It can either use LCDriver's API, which requires hardware support, or simulate it by redrawing the row periodically.
I am looking for users to test this before I send it to Ron for general release. I am particularly interested in anyone who believes that LCDriver supports marquee on their non-CrystalFontz display. The documentation is a little confusing as to whether there are any such devices. I have tested on CrystalFontz myself and it seems to work.
I did not find simulated mode particularly satisfactory at any reasonable speed on this display. There is just too much flicker. Perhaps a VFD will do better than an LCD. So, let me know if you want to test that as well. Although, to be honest, I'm not sure what I'll be able to do to make it better, without hardware support for horizontal scrolling of some kind.
I have also simplified the plug-in's command structure. Instead of separate text register and payload options, there is now one to display the contents of a named variable, which can be tregn or pldn as well as anything else. As a result, while old .GML files will work with the new version, the reverse is not the case.
When it's available, it will be version 1.12.
