USB-UIRT driver plugin reporting error

Girder 5 in Windows XP SP3
Generic plugin V3.2.0 (USBUIRT.dll), API: 3, Device #: 75
Message: "Plugin is loaded (error occured while enabling)"
USB-UIRT module plugged in and recieving IR commands (lights up when remote buttons are pressed).
Is this plugin only compatible with Girder 4?
What else to try?

That version of the plugin is the one included with Girder 5 so it should work. It sounds as though the underlying driver for the USBUIRT isn't loaded properly, or perhaps something else is accessing it? Either that or there's a hardware fault.
