The event that come from the DVDSpy plugin have a payload attached [pld1] or [pld2] see readme file of DVDSpy.
You can use these variables in the OSD for the duration of the event. You can also copy them into a separate variable.
Soooooo learn some event of DVDSpy to an Simple OSD action.
put [pld1] into the "Icon/Device" text box. Make sure that this event has a payload as stated in the DVDSpy readme.

DVDSpy is for extracting real-time state information from media applications like Winamp. It sounds like that is not what you are trying to do.
Girder is still a good tool for controlling applications and for being in turn controlled by your remote. See this topic (http://www.girder.nl/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2020) for something more like what you need.

Also, I finally got DVDspy to work and went along with the readme file. I did everything it said to but when I went to learn event and chose lets say, Winamp.Position, in the status bar, it would say Winamp.Close. I have OSDpopup installed and I went plugins and replaced "Place text here" with "[pl1]" and that didn't work so I replaced it with "[Winamp.Position]" and "[Winamp.Close]" to explore all posibilities. The readme is not very explicit in what to do here. All I get whenever I put anything there is a blank OSD so I don't know what is going on. Thanks in advance for your help.

Nevermind, after reading another post, I learned that the readme is incorrect and that it should read [pld1] not [pl1] and that fixes everything. I guess I was hoping that I would be able to see a full screen playlist or something so that I can use my PB remote from across the room and see the songs I can choose from my Winamp playlist. Evidently DVDspy doesn't do that and really doesn't do what I need it to do. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would be more than happy to hear them.
