Mark ( the author of the serial plugin) is out of town for a week so you'll have to have some patience here.

Hi bri,
Welcome to the Girder Forums! The Slinke can't send IR codes unless you have "Enabled Input Devices". You can tell if the input have been enabled by looking at the status "LED" in the lower right corner of the Girder app window. Green = enabled; Blue = disabled. If it's currently blue, press the <F9> key to enable it.
Once enabled, SLinkE Action settings should show all the available devices and their associated codes.
Good luck -- Steve

Hi bri,
After checking Rick's suggestion what happens when you try to enable input devices by pressing <F9>? Do any dialog boxes pop up with "Error SlinkE AddDevice" errors?
A.) If not, create a single Girder command. Select the "Plugin" tab from the Girder action panel, select "SlinkE Driver" from the list of plugin and click the "Settings" button. This should popup another dialog box titled "SlinkE ouput".
The SlikE ouput dialog has a dropdown list of all the devices (.cde files) you have associated with the Girder SlinkE driver. There is also a dropdown list of all the commands associated with each device.
Are both of the listboxes empty? Does the "Device" listbox have any entries? How about the "Code" listbox?
If they're both empty: can you confirm that you've added devices by:
1.) Selecting File->Settings...->Plugins->SlinkE Driver->Settings
2.) From the SlinkE setting Click the "Add" button.
3.) Enter the name of the device you want to add--let's use "TV" for example.
4.) After Clicking OK to dismiss the "Add" dialog, click the "Name" drop down and find the entry labeled "TV". Next, click the browse button and navigate to the appropriate .cde file for the "TV" device you just added
5.) After selecting the filename and cliking OK to dismiss the file picker dialog, make sure you have the following settings in the SlinkE Driver setup dialog (titled "Ports"):
Device ID: 1
Slink-E Number: 1
Ports Group:
All SlinkE ports (0-3) NOT checked
IR Port 0 - 7
This will depend on your particular setup. If you only have one emitter plugged into the Slink-e place a checkmark in the "IR Port 0" check box. If you are uncertain about how your Slink-e is setup, place a checkmark in all of the IR Port check boxes.
6.) Disable and re-enable the input devices by pressing <F9> either 2 or 3 times until the Girder status bar "LED" (lower right corner of Girder app window) is Green.
7.) Try A.) again and let us know the results.
Good Luck -- Steve

bri,
As RickD asked yesterday: Does the Slinke Server launch when you start Girder?
Addiitonally, is your Slink-e connected to the same machine as the one running Girder?
If so, does the Slink-e work?
What happens when you try to run CDJ?
With CDJ running, look at the Slink Server window. What entries do you see in the Slink Server window's TreeView?
Can you send and receive IR using the Nirvis EZLearn application?

bri,
Do you OWN a Slink-e box (http://www.nirvis.com)? If you have a Slink-e, the slinke server is an application that ships with the Slink-e unit and serves as an interface to the hardware.
If you don't have a Slink-e unit you can't use the Girder SlinkE driver.

It 's very interesting because I thought that there was no configuration because i can't enter in the slinke setting (hardware tab). when i press the setting buton first there is a message like : "error SlinkE device", and after if i retry nothing hapen.
I have got an other message when the plugin and the device are both enable, and if i close girder and open "ACCES VIOLATION AT ADRESSE 014E2D6C IN MODULE 'SLINKE.DLL READ OF ADRESSE FFFFFFFF.
I press OK and both liste of codes and edvice are empty but perhaps it's normal because i can't add them in the setting options.
I have re-install girder (perhaps the slinke.dl was corrupt) but it's the same result.
ps: I have forget : Girder is MAGIC thanks for all.

i 'am so sorry but i don't know what is the slinke server because have got no documenttion about this plugin and i find no "read me.txt" so i don't know how this plugin work, but when i launch girder nothing hapen exept an error on slinke (acces violation...)
My lcd work correctly with all the other plugins.
where can i find the "slink server", is there in the setting or it's an other application under windows. I have just find a slinke.ddl in girder\plugins\hardware.
but no .txt; .exe ...
Something is missing ?
Or have i forget ,something?
