Netremote and searching

Is it true that it is not possible to search from netremote within the user specified file paths, but only in my music ?

or is there something i havent quite figured out yet ? because all of my mp3's are on a NAS, and i would really like to search amongst them from netremote..

What player are you using with Mediabridge?

Winamp, windows media player, windows mediacenter, it is all the same, no searching in the filepath i specify

To be honest I am still not quite sure what you mean. Of coarse I use JRMC which is a true database/player. My thoughts are that the player/database is what has the tracks/songs information and Mediabridge then communicates with the player/database for searches. So if the player/database knows where the songs are then Netremote should be able to find them through Mediabridge.

So I would take a step back and rethink what your trying to do. I have over 850 CD's ripped into JRMC and I can search for any track I desire. Neither Netremote nor Mediabridge are responsible to keep track of your music files from my understanding as to how this all works. That is the job of the player/database. Not all players are as good as other in handling your library. Its one reason JRMC is the best IMHO.

Okay i will try to explain my self again..


i Am running mediabridge on vista media center (and have set my media player to vista mediacenter in the mediabridge.)

Pr. default the music folder (in my case C:\Users\Jay\Music) shows up in the media library, so if i copy a folder with mp3's to C:\Users\Jay\Music i can search for mp3's in that folder..

But if i add a file path in the mediabridge, lets say G:\Music\Electronic, it shows up in the library under filepaths (using the new-pro_480x640 ccf) BUT if i go to search, it does not search within G:\Music\electronic, only in C:\Users\Jay\Music ! So is there a way to search within G:\Music\Electronic when using netremote and vista media center ?
