If the other program ;-) released the API it would be possible to make a glue layer to load their plugins. ( I'm not volunteering though )

Hello Chris,

Thanks for the suggestion, sadly I"m really pressed for time these days, so I'm not accepting new plugin programming jobs. There are enough smart people in the Girder community now anyway. Might take some time before someone actually stands up but they do, they always do.

By the way, I like the interface of uICE, Girder could use something like it ;-) Now stop peeking at the competition  j/k

I see that the program from MediaTexx (uIC or something like that) can use the IR on the SoundBlaster Live/Audigy Drives. Is it possible to interface this program with Girder, so I can get the IR codes from the MediaTexx, but keep using Girder? It's that or buying a new IRMan. I do NOT want to learn a whole new program, especially now, that Girder is in really good shape and running 100 % stable on my media server/HTPC.

I believe Program B has done exactly that on their website. But I don't know anything about programming...

Well, if you've read Marvel Comics you'll know that DC is usually refered to as not "brand x" but "brand eech". So I was very kind. And just because he said Jehova...

Anyway, how did you manage to get that elusive Live Drive working? Can you give some of the guys here a little hint?

Yo! Big Brother is watchin you

A glue layer won't work. Believe me, I've coded the API  Btw, it's called uICE. Is this kind a "Jehova" word? "Program B", hehe, very funny :D

Ron: good work anyway, I like your Girder!

Just kidding. I referred to the great Monty Python film "Life of Brian". If you've seen it, you know what happens to people saying the evil word :o

Well now, programming the livedrive is not a secret. There's enough information about it on the net, and I'm sure Ron is smart enough to do it himself.

However, coding a driver without having the actual hardware for testing is a pain, so someone should send him one, he's doin a good job for all of you. Programming isn't a task that one can manage incidentally.
