I agree this seems like a good idea. MMcM is doing some similar stuff with DVDSpy. But it might be easier for certain tasks if the mechanism was more generic. As you said, expose to the user through the Girder GUI the ability to choose a Windows systems message. With DVDSpy, code has to be written.

I just thaught of a plugin that may well be a solution for a lot of hardware that isn't currently supported by girder.
Why not make a general plaugin that simply reacts to a specific window messages. It should have the same dialog as Command->Capture currently has.
It should, by theory, also allow to utilize the Creative remote control by assigning events to the messages triggered by the remote.
It should also have the option to block specific messages from continiuing through the message loop (the same way the KeyboardEX plugin currently blocks specific keyboard keys).
I think it's a good idea for a plugin, and relativly easy to implement considering the possibilities it will have.
If nobody will devolop this within two month I will, I don't do it now because I'm in the middle of a really hard studies.
Please post any comments, I'd like to hear them.

Hi
I've just downloaded girder, and the first thing that struck me, was that this plugin you mention, would be the perfect solution to my project.
I'm trying to integrate a Bang&Olufsen link system to girder, but I need something to catch the events from the "BeoLink<tm>" device i have attached.
Please let us know about your progress.
Thanks

I did promise to develop this plugin, unfortunatly due to lack of time and lessening need for it (I seem to manage to do just about anything I want with girder) it seems I won't develop it anytime soon. sorry.
