I have been using NetRemote for a little over a year with XP MCE with no issues. I just upgraded the computer that I store all my music and watch TV on to Vista Ultimate. Now when I launch NetRemote on the other computer I have a touchscreen attached to, i am running into issues. The first issue is that the data that showed which program was on is no longer visible all the time and the wrong cover art is displayed. The bigger issue is when I listen to music. I can click on a playlist I have created but I cannot always use a "play selection" command. If I then try to click on a different song, another media player is opened and it will play at the same time as a previous track. Any suggestions as to what might be happening? I have already installed the most recent versions of NetRemote, MediaBridge, and NetRemote Designer if that helps. Thank you for your help.

I'll try to take a look at this issue over the weekend.

Remind me on Monday if you don't hear from me before then.

Not been able to reproduce this yet I'm afraid.

Can you make sure that you refresh the media library cache in Mediabridge though just to make sure that it hasn't got out of sync with MCE?

A couple of other questions, where do you have Mediabridge installed?

Check in NetRemote for how many Mediabridge plugin instances you have, make sure there is only one and that it's pointing at the Vista MCE machine. You may have to disable automatic discovery if there are two or more plugin instances

Hello,
Thank you for your help. I went through and found that I had 3 instances under media bridge and am now at the one. This fixed some things. I figures out I needed to remove the XP MCE commands and change them to the regular Media Bridge commands (play, pause, etc.) I am no longer having the issue where songs are opening up multiple times and playing over themselves. I still cannot get the correct cover art to display. I am using: MP.PlayingNowCover and it will show a cover but not the correct one. Is there a different command I should be using? Thanks again for the help.

Glad that's sorted out most of the issues!

I'd recommend that you take a look at the Flatstyle ccf that should be in your My Documents folder. That uses a separate GAC+ object for the playing now cover.

Hello,
I looked at that CCF to try and fix the album cover issue. I actually just loaded that file into NetRemote and was able to control the Vista functions. Even that CCF has the same issues with the cover art. I double checked and the cover art is displaying correctly on media center. Any ideas on what it could be? Thank you

Can you post a screenshot showing the problem?

Is it just the playing now cover that's incorrect, or for the library covers as well?

Assuming that refreshing the media library doesn't fix it, can you zip up the cache.mdb file from the Program Files\Promixis\NetRemote Mediabridge folder and attach it here.

Hello,
I tried refreshing the media library but it did not change anything. I have attached the file you requested. Thank you for your help, I appreciate it. 5502

Now that is very strange - most of the albums and tracks are showing a cover image of one of the following:

E:\My Music\Folder.jpg
E:\My Music\music\Folder.jpg
C:\Users\Public\Music\Sample Music\Folder.jpg

except for WLVE Smooth Jazz 2007 which should be showing the correct image

I think I see what's happening here - all your MP3 files are located in one folder rather than being split into individual folders per album as would be more common.

Hello,
Is there a way to make this work without having to split the files up? I would rather not sort through everything and have to re-make all my playlists. I guess I don't understand how this would work with XP but not Vista? I don't know if it helps, but the album art is displaying correctly on Vista MC. Thanks for all your help.

This is with the same directory structure? I can't explain that.

As far as I can tell the only way this will work is with one folder per album.
