How do you tell them apart on the desktop or for your remote control or whatever other means you use to control them? Are they entirely the same or do they have different Winamp .ini file configurations? I'm supposing that they don't output to the same sound device, do they?
I imagine that the overall approach would be to have the Winamp plugin get the Girder event prefix, which is currently a constant "Winamp.", from some place. What that place best is depends on how you otherwise deal with the duplication. Easiest from an implementation perspective would be plugin.ini, of which you would need two copies, one for each instance.

As of DVDSpy 1.29, you can add an EventPrefix=xxx line to plugin.ini under [gen_DVDSpy]. Set it differently in the two installations and Girder should be able to tell them apart. This setting does not appear in the Configure dialog in Winamp because it is so specialized.

Hi!
I've got two instances of Winamp running at all times. Obviously it doesn't work to send info to the same variable. Is there a way of separating them? Or do I have to link DVDSpy to only one of them?

I use different directories and different exe-names (like winampbad.exe for the one in the bathroom). So the plugins are in winampbad\Plugins and winamp\plugins. Would that mean that I can change the output to for instance winampbad.status instead of winamp.status through the ini-file? Or is that a function you can implement? In that case it would be great! :)
And yes, I use different soundcards for the output.

Oh, sorry, now I understood. You can add the function, and the easiest way is to make the plugin look in it's ini file for the prefix. Yes, it would be a very nice way to do it for me to! Please do, if you don't mind. :D

Brilliant! Thanks a lot! I'll try that later today, when the kids are done watching their movie! :-)
