Hey, greetings from Germany.

I do have a big issue with Girder 5, wich I use.

Girder works fine, the RC works and Girder realizes the buttons I press - great so far.

My question is now, how I can possibly use one button to activate the winamp controls, and when i press another button, activate the vlc controls? (eg green button for winamp, vlc disabled//red button to control vlc, winamp control disabled)

I found out, how to disable for example winamp, but i cannot get it back to work, cuz the disable group/action disables the winamp controls, but the enable group/actions wont get it back to work, except for if i run it manually.

I dont know, if you understand me right, so Ill try again:

got 4 buttons on the RC that I like to use for taking over the control of different programs. so when I have e.g. vlc and winamp open, i want to press one button to activate the winamp controls, so i can use the play pause stop buttons for it. then i want to be able to press another button and with that i would like to use the same play pause stop buttons to control vlc with it, but without having control over winamp. since i couldnt find out, how to do that, I registered here and hope for a simple solution (i dont really care wether its simple or not, i just want to use the same buttons for different apps).

thanks so far, tlrg

edit: there is one big BUT in all of this: i would like to use those different buttons to activate the app-control, whether its foreground or not, so even if winamp is in the background or minimized, i'd like to still be able to command winamp.

its all like the 5in1 RCs, that switch the commands they send, but i want to let Girder do this. -> green button: control winamp, red button: control vlc, no matter if winamp is still active or not.

That sounds a bit odd, is the enable action contained in the disabled group? Or failing that, is there a conditional on it?

i put the -actions - girder- enable group/action in -winamp - controls, just as i did with diable group/action (both then with an action and the correct button) - maybe i was wrong with that. i think that, since i disabled the group winamp with that, the enable command doesnt workt, since its also in the winamp group. anyways, the enable thing only works, when i press f5 in its options.

when there is a basic mistake by me or if i put the enable/disable thingy in the wrong place, please let me know :-)

F5 always works because it deliberately ignores disabled states and conditionals - would be difficult to test some actions otherwise.

I would create a separate group for the enable/disable actions that is always enabled. That should solve your problem.

that is, what i did so far. it works for me, thank you in any way.

one more thing would be to advise the programm to automatically disable all other programs, as soon as i enable on particular programm. so, if winamp and maybe some other app is open for being remotely controlled, and i activate vlc, that at the same time, winamp and so on wont be controlled any longer. maybe i can figure this out - then it is time to purchase girder.

Just use the event that enables WinAmp to disable VLC and vice versa.
