MCE ehome ir recever ir8u in girder 5 with out the orginal remote!!!

i was wondering if i can use another remote other than the original .... when i press a button on the remote the red light lights up so i think it can read it i just cant figure out how to get it to read the ir codes in girder 5 ... i would like to be able to receive codes and send them out to tv dvd player ect

you can't .

Only Microsoft Mce remote, HP and Dell Mce remote, Harmony, Xbox 360 remote .... these one worked with mce ir receiver.

so there's no way i can get codes off of the remotes and then send them back to there devices... i don't really want to just use one remote for everthing but my computer to run it all by clicking a key or button
