View Full Version : How do I change the behaviour of the volume control?

Hi

I'm using Windows 7 and Windows Media Center.
I'm using the Windows Media Center Remote Control
I'm very happy with the Media Center Remote Control and how it works with Media Center. I do not want to change how this works.

I'm about to install a Lynx Two B audio card. This card does not work with the regular windows volume control. Instead the volume must be controlled using the Lynx audio mixer.
This means that I have to override commands to the windows volume control and instead control the Lynx audio mixer.

Can anyone give me some advice about the best - and easiest - way of doing this?

It may be worth seeing if Girder can control the audio mixer functions directly e.g. by adding a Volume control action to a GML and see if the mixer appears in the audio picker.

It seems to be working. I'm honestly not sure what is doing it.
The mixer had a learning function, using it and the remote control actually caused a keyboard press that the mixer understood.

However, as it is now only the audio mixer is changed, not the windows sound.
The sound works fine, but there is no OSD information about the sound level, neither in Media Center nor from the Audio Mixer OSD (wich was working before).

For now the main purpose is archived. I can use some more time to find out if there is some solution to syncronsize the mixer volume and the system volume.
