This version fixes positioning of titles/menus:
osdmenu16a.zip (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/graham.wire/osdmenu16a.zip)
I don't know about your other problem. I don't see how it can be a problem with OSDMenu since it just uses the standard routine provided by Girder's API (Support.sendevent), so OSDMenu should see no difference whether girder is visible or not. I'll take a look anyway when I get some time. Does the same happen without payloads?

It is supposed to go back to the previous submenu. However, I know it is broken when linking to submenus in other ini files. I will look into it when I get a chance!

Thanks for the new version Matt!
Couple of issues:
1. Menu Titles are great, but I wanted to ask something - I noticed that in my menus that have large titles, there's a lot blank space between the Title text and the menu itself. Can I somehow control the size of this gap?
2. I've had a pretty big problem since 1.53 and I'm pretty clueless as to what I'm doing wrong. I doubt that this problem is a bug in the software, since it probably would have been corrected by now (?)
Anyways, when I write a simple menu item that is supposed to send out a Girder Event with some payload data, like for example:
[main]
Menu Item=#18#SomeEvent#SomePayloadText
Now, the problem is, that this menu item would only function properly when Girder is open (meaning, visible on my TaskBar), but would not function at all when Girder is minimized to the TrayBar.
I'm using Win98SE, and have tried this with both OSDMenu 1.53 and 1.6, and both Girder 3.2.4 and 3.2.5 pre 1.

Also, I've just discovered two small bugs with the calculations of wnd_size=fit2text when using the new Menu Titles feature (and large fonts?).
Take for example the following Menu.INI:
[visual]
wnd_size=fit2text
fontsize=34
fontname=arial
title=My Menu
titlefontname=arial
titlefontsize=40
[main]
First=
Second=
Third=
In this example, the following two problems occur:
1. The vertical size of the menu is too small - it cuts off some of the last menu item. This doesn't happen if you disable the title.
2. Fit2Text doesn't take the title into consideration yet, which becomes a problem when the title of the menu is longer then the menu items.

@Matt
Sorry, my bad - re-reading the Girder FAQ helped me realize that my issue was caused by the Igor Plugin. Nevermind...

Thanks Matt! The requested feature of the dynamic variable works great, i finally managed to complete my 'speaking' menu!
I still have one question left; How is the back or previous menu function supposed to work?
99% percent of the times it takes me back to the main menu and not to previous one when there are multiple submenus.
Only sometimes it goes back one level.
With the new variables i think a can make a workaround, but ..
Any ideas :-?

FYI: I only use one .ini
By the way is the back=%menu needed? or is it just a menu called back?
I tried with and without..
