Why does my GML file work in Girder 4 but not Girder 5?
I was using Windows XP and Girder 4 and it works great.
I tried using Vista and Wibdows 7 and Girder 5 (bescause wanted the audio mixer to work also) and it does not work?
It does not do anything. It is a GML FILE TO LOAD playlists.
Any ideas why?
Thanks
Ron

You will have to tell us exactly what this GML does, what programs it works on and what is failing.
Sounds like the target program you are controlling has changed from XP to Windows 7, so it's not much of a surprise that things have to be updated in your GML.

A few years ago I was on this site because I was trying to get Girder to load audio playlists for winamp for my carputer.
Masfiff from the forums gave me a copy of his playlist selector GML file and after "tweaking it with the playlist path and my remote comands it worked great with Girder 4 & Windows XP. I now have upgraded to Girder 5 and not it does not work. Tried it in Windows XP,Vista and Windows 7 does not work. Plus If I put Girder 4 on Windows 7 it does not work.
So it Only works on Windows XP With Girder 4
I have the playlist path's correct. I don't see where it tells to open a "media player" my guess is maybe Windows default?"
I don't really know too much on what to to with Girder (too confusing for me) but I was looking his Init but dont see anything that seems like it would be looking for "Girder 4"
A copy of the gml is in this link.

OK, whats really wierd it that I was looking around in the file(mind you I don't know what I am doing with Girder) but am pretty good with Windows and know not to chage something you don't know (without backing up the file first)
I was using Girder 4 and Windows 7 and looking at the GML to see I could see if I could find something in there that points to somthing that should be changed.
I am 99.9999999% positve I did not change anything, but at a page with text or (code) I saw I looked through it then hit the button "test and apply" button. Then it asked do I want to save it I said yes. Now it works with Windows 7 & Girder 4 with a "Glitch" when I press a button on the remote to load a playlist it works but it also displays the master volume OSD. Maybe because Girder 4 isn't really for Windows 7?
But then I tried the Saved file from Girder 4 (that worked) and tried it in Girder 5 in Windows 7 (same machine) and it still does not work. I tried doing the same thing I did in Girder 4 in Girder 5 but still does not work.
When I look in the log when I press the buttons on my remote to load the playlists it says Script Error: Logic Error. Check Lua Console. Now if I knew what that means that might help.
Any ideas what is going on?
Thanks
Michael

I don't know why it started working with Girder 4 and Windows 7. The audio & visual promps do work from the "playlist loader GML" It all works except with the "glitch" that it displays the master volume OSD at the same time as pressing the buttoms which it should not do.
"UPDATE"
But now I have been playing with Girder 5, Windows 7 (same machine) as above In the setting in the Playlist GML File there is a option for audio promps or no audio promps. If I change it to 0 it works correctly except no audio promps of course.
If I leave it on 1 the playlist loader does nothing, does not load the playlist, no audio or visual display etc.
Any ideas why it would not work with the audio promps enabled? (Keep in mind the audio and visual now works on the same machine using Girder 4 except for the "glitch") Also works on Windows XP & Girder 4
Thanks

I really don't understand it.
It works with Girder 4 but not Girder 5. Is there any settings in Girder that changed between 4 and 5 to make it not work when I enable voice prompts in my GML?
Anyone willing will to look at my GML file. I would even be willing to make a small donation if need be. I really don't think it is a that big of a problem to fix but don't know what to do.
I use the exact GML file between Girder 4 and 5 so my guess is the way it is writen Girder 5 does not like for some reason.
If you disable the audio prompts in the file it will work but without the audio prompts but I need them.

One bit I might be able to help you with is to disable the OSD go to Plugins, Audio Mixer Tab, and Uncheck "Use OSD for Volume Changes" I think the default was to be checked.
