What is the best program to scan a HD and create playlists for Winamp.

Thanks for the info in advance.

Thanks Guys.

PlayGen 1.2 did the trick.

For me, I choose PlayGen 1.0, by Luke Reeves.

Why?

Pluses: Works great for whole directory mp3 playlists. I use it to make a playlist for each cd, then when Winamp is up, I just punch in the cd number, and up comes the playlist. It also is just a small .exe, no fuss, no problems.

Minuses: Doesn't allow anything but whole directory playlists. No filtering based on ID3 tag, etc...

Overall, if your looking for a whole directory playlist generator, use this. If not, then maybe someone uses something better.

I've been trying an enormous amount of MP3 players (about 20)!
I use a pentium I-166 (overclocked 200 ofcourse)just for MP3 playing.

I also think winamp is the best...BUT...I started to use Musicmatch jukebox and it has more functions for very large mp3 playlists.

But stay away from the visualisations!!!! my system crashes every time i use them.

Musicmatch has great ways of sorting long playlists. I use about 2000 MP3's on a fileserver-pc over a network and this works perfect.

I also use a IRman-remote but the plugin from evation sucks bigtime!!!!

Now with girder it runs perfectly, however not with the recomended export file on the girder site. I had to make a new one....

For sorting and ID3-tagging i use Tag-and-rename because you see very clearly the difference between ID3-V1 and V2!
